ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Report from the Terminus
I am a tracker in the ruins of the Western Myth.
This project is a forensic witness account of a three-thousand-year-old loop. It is written by a woman who followed the scent of the Western engine all the way back to its ecological roots—the volcanic soil of the Samnite ancestors and the stagnant moats of the Terramare—and came back with a report.
The Authority of the Witness
The authority of this work is not academic; it is biological.
It began in June 2016, when the system that runs all our lives claimed my husband’s. He was a federal wildlife biologist who spent thirty years at the edge of something irreplaceable: the restoration of the endangered wolf. He was a "Vitalic Man"—a guardian who knew how to carry himself among predators, his hands deep in the biological and political viscera of the living world.
He was swallowed alive by the late-stage physio-chemical reality of a civilization that treats biology as an "externality" and the Earth as a silent ledger. He died from the "Toxic Bloom" of industrial runoff—a modern repetition of the same ecological collapse that erased the Terramare lake-dwellers in 1150 BCE.
For a decade after his death, I raised our three children into adulthood—including a son growing up inside this fatherless, post-collapse inheritance. This project is my refusal to let any more sons be turned into fuel for a machine that doesn't know their names.
The Forensic Method
We are told that Western civilization is a story of progress. Through a forensic lens, we see it is actually an Operating System of Enclosure.
Stability: Direct relation to the living world (The Vitalic).
Expansion: The removal of ecological brakes (The Redaction).
Enclosure: Moving truth from the bird to the creed (Prosthetic Symbolism).
Full Dependency: The hollowing out of the Guardian into a compliant resource.
Collapse: The "Toxic Bloom" and the documented uninstall.
I have spent ten years reading the West’s cosmological record the way a biologist tracks an animal. I am searching the mythic terrain for the scent of the Trapped at the far end of the trail—the ecological voice that was bound and gagged to keep the engine solvent.
The New Wild Order
This is not a grief memoir or a theological argument. I am sifting the wreckage for the tools and truths that still hold weight, and documenting known coordinates for those who will manage to outlive the fall.
This work happens in two places:
The Audit: The long-form forensic essays tracing the "Blue-Greening" and the "Redaction of the Trophic Man."
The Tending: The physical restoration at Foundling Fortune Farm and the Paint the Pueblo initiative—where we turn the "Blue" of grief into the "Green" of a resilient, local economy of presence.
The Invitation
If you are feeling the scarcity in your soul despite a storehouse of abundance—if the anxiety in your nervous system has no name but won't leave—you are feeling the first signal of the uninstall.
I am here to document the coordinates for the exit. I am still seeking the life that remains after the Ledger falls.
